Cahoot Internet Banking are stuck with what seems to me like no new features, no improvements and no direction since it launched. What was a ground-breaking website once upon a time now appears left alone and dejected by parents Santander.
Who knows what happed to Webcard, their internet payment protection card.Nobody knows when they will accept or receive Faster Payments (pretty much all other UK banks can now). It still takes several days for money to leave or go into my account. In general, once we …
We hav also been with Cahoot for years but am now planning to move. Shame, as we were big fans at the start (pioneering internet features, all account types together, good phone support) but it’s not kept up with the times – the site has not changed in years and is starting to age, the phone support is now Mon-Fri 9-5 which is hopeless for an online-only bank (esp if you have a card problem while in a remote time zone, as I’ve had). Now looking for something with 24/7 support, Bangalore better than nothing, and an iPhone app, as well as good account terms.
I have used Cahoot for many years. Seems obvious it is being run down although still very good for banking and easy to use. Will probably be incorporated in other Santander product.
Doesn’t use the Rapport p/word protection facility that the main Santander site affords!
Surprisingly I’ve never received any form of postal communication? What if a sole a/c holder dies and the wife etc is not aware of the internet a/c? Does this leave the money with Santander unclaimed? Surely there should be a legal requirement for a bank to send out a postal statement say every 6 months.
This used to be a great bank with some brilliant ideas and ways or running your account/managing your money. However, over the years all these services have been withdrawn one by one and now we’re left with the bare bones. The only service available for new customers is the savings account.
On the ocassions that I have had to contact customer service I have to say it is second to none – they are always friendly, helpful and act quickly.
I hear that Santander are unifying all their internet banking divisions across Europe (that don’t carry the Santander name) under one brand so hopefully soon we’ll have a better online bank before I switch somewhere else.
Some years ago this online bank seemed good with a good website. It had good interest rates as well. However today it is poor compared with many others. Interest rate on savings account is now under half that of the current account (unless you have a few hundred thousand pounds!). This is absurd. There isn’t any real time display of account balances – compare with NatWest for example. Faster payments is not implemented. Statements cannot be downloaded – once again compare with NatWest where 6 years is now available for download. This bank is in decline in my view and very soon I plan to cease using it.
Been with Cahoot since it started. Not too worried about how the site looks. I find it easy to navigate quick to use far better than NatWest or RBS.
Don’t understand why webcard was scrapped, Have asked numerous times why no download of account data Finally, I paid off my Flexible Loan with a £5k deposit and the facility was immediately removed. The Direct Debit pages have had all the useful data removed (last payment and amount) This bank should be No 1 by now, it was a great idea with an easy to use website…. I hope Santander restore all the above facilities, I still like Cahoot and would rather see it “improved” back to where it was rather than just rebranded… Santander take note this is a great opportunity!!
Cahoot only allows you to view 12 months worth of statements online, has no download facilty, instead you have to view print friendly and then copy and paste into excel. Sort it out Santander!

Been with Cahoot 9 years. They’ve been great. Everything runs like clockwork.. they have all the facilities I need – direct debit / transfers / standing orders, plus 1% interest on balance. On the 2 occasions I have had misuse of my debit card number, money has been refunded few questions asked, and a new card issued smoothly. Web site is simple to use. The only reason I might consider changing is if another bank offered considerably better than the 1% interest… which seems unlikely.
