Metro Bank – the first new bank in 100 years
So will the online banking for Metro bank be ‘great’ as promised on their site? Be interesting to see. Metro bank is a brand new bank, opening on the 29th July in Holborn London. Its been a long time in the making, the idea was conceived over 3 years ago.
Their touted USP is ‘Love your bank’ and making banking ‘fun’ as well as providing 7 day opeing, from 8am on weekdays. All sounds quite handy, but a lot has changed in 3 years. Ok so they tout satisfaction guaranteed, and ‘no stupid bank rules’ but now over 50% of people in the UK do their banking online.
We’ll be watching closely to see the early uptake of new customers, and are keen to see if people are willing to trust their hard earned cash with a bank that nobody has heard of and has no history. We’ll be signing up to take a look at their ‘great’ online banking for sure, and will report back in early August. And if possible, try and get down there for the opening, with free food, face painting, give aways, live music and more… !
I cannot wait to see what changes will actually take place through new banks opening on Britains high streets. I am more than happy to switch banks should there be both better service and decent rates in sight. At this point in time I feel I would be better off not having a bank account at all… obviously impossible, especially having recently started my own business.
